5 reasons Tallinn should be in your travel list

Estonia is one of the countries that we all have to learn its capital in school but yet not hear or know much about it. It is one of the 9  countries having access to the Baltic sea. (the Baltic sea is the gulf in the northern part of Europe).
How to reach Estonia: by ferry from Sweden, Finland or Denmark, by car going either up through Norway and Finland or going from Europe passage through Lithuania and Latvia and of course by plane.

A trip to Tallinn by ferry is an option

1 - The city center is like a fairy tale

Tallinn’s city center was very well conserved during the centuries and wars (I and II) some of its buildings and the wall surrounding the center are  from the middle ages. So you are walking in centuries of history.

There are many point to enter the Tallinn’s city center but the most iconic one is the Viru’s gate ( the old gate to the city)

2 - Wool and Handcrafts

Estonia was conserved though the centuries thanks to the production of materials such as wood and wool. The Handcrafted sweaters, scarfs and different items are to be found across the hole city. Enjoy the different designs and workshops.

3 - Delicious Food

One of my favorite parts of this trip was the food. Estonia has a high quality production of grains and berries. This you can enjoy in the Farm restaurant. All the menu is inspired in the Estonian country life, everything from the bread to meat is produced in the country.

If you are looking for something a bit more special you can go to monrepos. A restaurant the open its doors in a renovated Mansion in Kadriorg park and also where Estonian food is the star.

4 - The art

Estonia has one of the best art universities in Europe and the newly opened Fotografiska museum, where fantastic expositions are held.

All around the city you can see different cultures or art expositions made by Estonian artists. My favorite place was the Kadriorg Park.

5 - Kadriorg Palace

Oh this is one of my favorite places in the city. This palace was the official residence to of the Estonian prime minister when Estonia got the independence and after the Russian invasion, now is a museum with an incredible art exposition and a great concert hall where classical music concerts are held.
